New books. . .

I just ordered 7 new songbooks on Amazon.com. WOO HOO.  I also pre-ordered the Singers Musical Theatre Anthology 16-bar audition cuts that doesn't even come out until June!  That one is going to be exciting!

Here are my other purchases.

1.  "Ready to Read Music: Sequential Lessons in Music Reading Readiness"  I am going to start cracking down on my students and give music theory assignments.

2.  "Broadway Presents! Teen Male Vocal Anthology: A Treasury of Songs from Stage * Film Specially Designed for Teen Singers! Includes Story Synopsis, Song Set-up, Audition Tips & 16-Bar Cut Suggestions" I can't wait to start some new music with Darrius!

3. "Broadway Belter's Songbook"  I have eyed this book up for years.  Finally broke down and bought it. I know most of the songs and have a lot of the music but it looks like there are some goodies in there too!
4. "The Jason Robert Brown Collection: 24 Selections from Shows and Albums (P/V/G Composer Collection)"  Now this is going to be great fun and exciting!
5. "13 the Broadway Musical Piano Vocal Selections"  This is going to make some of my students very happy..particularly Bethany!
6. "Goldrich and Heisler - Songbook, Volume 2 (P/V/G Composer Collection)"  I bought their first book and could hardly contain my joy.  I am still working my way through the first volume but when I saw volume 2 with "Altos Lament" in it I HAD to get it!  Takes a very funny singer to pull off that song.

7. "Acting the Song: Performance Skills for the Musical Theatre"  Always looking for ways to learn about acting the song and having a believable performance.  This one will be on my nightstand for a while!  I could use more of these skills too!

Have you bought any good new songbooks or musical theatre based books lately?  If you have anything good please share the title with me!
