I am so excited for two of my students who practiced for months and months for the Wizard of Oz auditions at Shrewsbury Community Theatre.
Oliva H. was chosen as Dorothy. Oliva writes her practice down every week. She watched the movie, she practiced monologues from the show that she found on-line. She practiced her audition piece until it was completely perfect. She began preparations for these auditions in November and look what happened. She got the leading role. This is Olivia's first leading role and I guess it will not be her last! Way to go. Thank you for showing us the value and importance of practicing hard.
Bethany H. was chosen as the Tinman. This is another case of extreme practicing to make yourself successful. Bethany is always one of my most determined and diligent practicing students. Bethany was able to practice the entire script. We have been working on this audition since at least September. Bethany had another part in mind but was plesently surprised when the part of the Tinman (woman) came her way. Thank you also to Bethany for showing us the imprortance of REAL practice and determination.
Congrats to both of you!
